(I have a wonderful, supportive husband but he still doesn’t make cute crafts with our toddler for me.) But that’s ok because you found me! In this post I’m going to teach you how to make easy but adorable Mother’s Day gifts from toddlers and babies with your little one.

I hear so many moms talk about how they never get anything for Mother’s Day and their partners don’t try and make the day special for them. That’s just so sad! 1. Footprint Flowers

This is a cute crafts to do with babies because getting a baby to open their hand is like torture. Also, who doesn’t want a reminder of how small and adorable those little baby tootsies are? This craft is simple to make and you only need a few things to create it.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

How to make this Mother’s Day baby footprint flower:

1. Gather all your supplies.

2. Place the cardstock vertical on a hard surface.

3. Use the paintbrush to paint the bottom of your baby’s foot and gently press It onto the cardstock near the top of the page.

PRO TIP: This works well while ypur baby is sitting in a highchair with some toys to occupy them. Place the cardstock on a hard book or tray and bring it up to your baby’s foot to make the print.

4. If you’re making 2 flowers and using two different colors make sure to use a baby wipe and clean off your baby’s foot first. Then repeat the steps to make your second flower.

5. Let dry.

6. Once dry, write on your saying and don’t forget the year.

7. Use markers to draw the flower stems and petals under the Footprint.

8. (OPTIONAL) To make it look extra special, place it in a nice frame or laminate it for extra durability.

This makes a great gift for Grandma too!

2. Handprint Flowerpot Keepsake Gift

This Handprint flowerpot is the perfect Mother’s Day gift from toddlers! It’s a simple Mother’s Day craft and gift to make for mom or grandma. We made one for Grandma when my toddler was 18 months old, but it’s so cute I want one for me too!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Here’s how to make this Mother’s Day Gift:

1. Set out all of your supplies.

2. Use the paintbrush to paint your toddler’s hand.

3. Press your toddler’s painted hand on the flower pot. You will be making a few hand prints all around the pot so reapply paint as needed.

4. Paint your toddler’s finger yellow and make 1 or a few prints on the pot to make bees.

5. Let dry.

6. Once dry, use the paint pens to paint on the stems and petals on the handprint flowers. Use a black paint pen or sharpie to create your fingerprint bees.

7. Use the paint pens write your Message around the top rim of the flowerpot. We wrote: “Thank you for helping me grow. Happy Mother’s Day! Love, Lucas”. Don’t forget the date!

8. Once everything is dry, paint on a layer of Modge Podge using a sponge brush over the whole flowerpot, or spray it with the spray Modge Podge.

Once the Modge Modge is dry your flowerpot is ready for gifting! This is such an adorable Mother’s Day gift for Mom or Grandma.

3. Mommy and Me Handprint Canvas

I adore this Mother’s Day keepsake gift! I made this with my son at one and half years old and it’s just so adorable. This is definitely a beautiful Mother’s Day gift.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Here’s how to make this beautiful Mother’s Day Keepsake:

1. Set out all of your supplies.

2. Place your canvas on a hard, flat surface.

3. Paint your hand with the darker color, print it on the center of the canvas, and let dry.

4. Once dry, paint your toddler’s hand in the lighter color and press it on top of your hand, in the middle. Let dry.

5. Once dry use your Sharpie or paint pen to write this message on the top: “I’ll hold your hand forever.” On the bottom write, “ Mommy and your toddler’s name”. Don’t forget the year!

Now you have a beautiful mommy and me keepsake that encapsulates your little one holding your hand. This is one of my favorite Mother’s Day gifts from toddlers and babies.

4. Mother’s Day Message Canvas Painting (Tape Resistant Art)

This is such a versatile keepsake craft and can be done with Babies, toddlers, or any age group. You only need a few items and your little one does most of the work. This makes a great Mother’s Day gift for Mom, Grandma, Godmother, or Auntie. And bonus, there’s a mess free version of this!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Here’s how to make this creative Mother’s Day gift:

1. Set out all your supplies

2. Use the Painter’s tape to create a word on the canvas such as LOVE or MOM. Use scissors to cut the tape instead of ripping it to make the letters even.

3. Place the canvas, paint colors, and paintbrushes on a flat surface or table and invite your child to come paint.

4. Let your child paint over the entire canvas, completely Covering the letters. My toddler loved this activity! He started out with the paintbrushes and then switched to finger painting. (Finger painting or the mess free version below is best for babies!)

5. Let dry.

6. Once dry, carefully remove the tape.

Voila! Now you have a gorgeous masterpiece worthy of gifting.

BONUS TIP:

Want to make this mess free?

After creating your word in tape, put drops of different colored paint all over the canvas and place it in a gallon sized ziplock bag. Invite your little one to come and squish around the colors through the bag. The paint will mix and squish, covering the canvas insidr. This is a great sensory experience and perfect for babies!
